I have been informed by the Department of National Defence that they want me to shut down CF Discounts feeling that it infringes upon their efforts to support military members. This in spite of the fact that I don't make any money from the site, listing companies for free.

Despite having been in operation for several years and having had numerous discussions with members of DND, the Chief of Defence Staff a couple of years ago and with many many members of parliament and a couple of different Ministers of National Defence over the course of the last several years and having been congratulated by all of them on my efforts, the Department of National Defence is now claiming that they have only 'just had it brought to our attention' that CF Discounts existed.

To avoid any legal issues with a government office that has endless funds for legal procedures while I'm just a retired veteran trying to help out fellow soldiers, I regret to say that CF Discounts will be shutting down effective immediately.

I would like to thank all of the businesses and individuals who have shown their support to our military personnel over these last several years.
